The Parish Meeting

Too small to merit being a full-blown Parish Council, West Haddlesey has a Parish Meeting.

Day to day administration of village affairs is in the hands of a Chairman, who more often than not gets the Clerk or the Vice Chairman to do the actual work. With no Treasurer at the moment, the three of them are handling the parish finances between them, so bankruptcy cannot be far behind.

There are two main meetings, to which all those who live and work in the village are invited to attend, and which are generally held in the nearest pub which, after a five year hiatus, is now back to being the George and Dragon, in May and November of each year.

Minutes of previous meetings dating back to 1989 are available below, as are the annual financial returns of the parish back to 2006.

When she remembers, or when someone complains that he hasn’t done one for a while, the Clerk puts out a sporadic newsletter, copies of which are available online and shown a little further down this page.

The Committee

The Committee meets as and when required to ensure that any issues arising in the village are dealt with, and can be reached individually at the numbers shown below, or via the centralised email address at info@westhaddlesey.org.uk.
