Welcome to

West Haddlesey

West Haddlesey is a small village 5 miles south-west of Selby, North Yorkshire.

It is home to around 180 people, as well as an Indian restaurant, a post office, and in the neighbouring village of Chapel Haddlesey, a school and a toddler group.

This website provides useful information to residents of the parish and visitors to the parish to keep them informed about what’s going on in and around the the village, as well as providing contact details for members of the Parish Meeting committee and information on past meetings.

Haddlesey is a corruption of Athelsey, which comes from Atheling, the name of the last Saxon prince, and ey meaning an island or river.
